Walk of Faith Raises Nearly $1200
On October 12, the residents of the Greenbriar Cove Community and many other community members took a “walk of faith” to raise money for the Samaritan Center.
Starting out at the Community Center on what was quite possibly the most beautiful day of the year, they contributed $10 (or more as they felt called) to stroll to Imagination Station and back.
One hundred percent of the proceeds came to the Samaritan Center.
These contributions will be invaluable as we enter our busiest season of the year in a very challenging economy.
Augustus Ford Trophy Classic Better Than Ever
The second annual Augustus Ford Trophy Classic took place in Cleveland this year, with 187 registrants and 154 people crossing the finish lines. Dr. Ford, the physician in whose honor the race was established, would have been thrilled to see people getting fit and giving money to education at the same time.
This year the race ran more smoothly than ever, with a course so level that runners could set official state records while running it.
The Samaritan Center received $400 from registration donations, which we look forward to using to help others this difficult winter.
A special thanks to everyone involved!
