2008 Fundraiser a Success in Spite of Difficult Year
It was a tough year for everyone, but the supporters of the Samaritan Center were determined to rise above their circumstances to make sure that the Center’s services would be there to help those in need in 2009.
As a result, the Center raised $170,471, a more than $50,000 increase over the same fundraiser in 2007.
“We were concerned because we knew that this would be a very challenging year,” says Executive Director Tony Dahlberg. “But through their giving, our community has truly stepped up to the plate and shown that they care.”
Even as the money shared with the Center increases, however, the amount of aid the Center shares with the community increases as well.
“Last year we saw a 25% increase in the amount of assistance that we gave out,” says Dahlberg. “This year we’re expecting to see that increase even more.”
